Proudly partnering with Radiology and RT Professionals for over 35 years, CIRS is recognized worldwide for tissue simulation technology and is a leader in manufacturing phantoms and simulators for densitometry, calibration, quality control, and research.
The integration of MR imaging in Radiation Therapy facilitates real time motion management and Real-Time On-Table Adaptive Radiotherapy (ROAR). CIRS was the first manufacturer to work with Viewray in the development of an MR motion phantom. The CIRS Model 008Z is based on that experience and additional inputs from Viewray engineers. The phantom is MR Safe and artifact-free via use of piezoelectric motors and non-ferromagnetic materials. The phantom provides independently programmable rotation and linear motions to an interchangeable cylindrical insert. Inserts contain irregular-shaped targets of different sizes which receive ionization chambers for dosimetry. The body represents a heterogenous background due to simulated lungs, liver, kidney, and spine. The simulated organs are anatomical in shape and have a life-like spatial relationship. They are filled with gels that provide contrast in CT and MR. Cavities for ionization chambers are present in the liver, kidney, spine, and moving tumor. Motion Control software calculates Beam Latency specific to hybrid MRI-Linac systems without the need for an external oscilloscope which may introduce additional latencies. Patent # US 7,151,253 B2
Product Number: “Model 008Z “MRgRT Motion Management QA phantom”
Designed in cooperation with ViewRay, the CIRS Model 008V is used to test unique capabilities of the MRIdian system. The phantom indexes to the ViewRay couch and is designed to accommodate the MRIdian flexible torso coils. The phantom body is comprised of a plastic shell with a cylindrical thru-hole, which accommodates a moving rod. There are five static and three dynamic targets optimized for ViewRay motion tracking algorithms. The body and targets are filled with proprietary gels formulated for imaging and dosimetry on the ViewRay system. The phantom provides a signal output of target position essential to test beam latency. Patent # US 7,151,253 B2
Product Number: Model 008V “ViewRay ® Dynamic Phantom”
Established in 1983, Computerized Imaging Reference Systems, Inc. (CIRS) began with a defined mission to improve upon existing tissue simulation methodology and provide quantitative reference standards for Computed Tomography.
Today, CIRS is recognized as a leader in the manufacturer of tissue-equivalent phantoms and simulators for medical imaging, radiation therapy, and procedural training.
CIRS is one of few companies worldwide with proprietary technology that permits the manufacture of phantoms for every commercial imaging modality. Applications include OEM production quality control, service, R&D, and pre-clinical trials. The company also provides custom design and manufacturing services to support research into new modalities and techniques.
